The ADS sound alarm will sound for 30-60 minutes before running low on battery. The 2 included CR 1632 watch batteries in the ADS Sound Alarm have a shelf life of 5 years.

The alarm is not safe to submerge in water. The ADS Sound Alarm is weather resistant to rain, mud, and splashes of water.

If you feel like drawing your bear spray from the ADS Holster is stiff to start here are a few tips. Leave your bear spray cannister in the ADS Holster, after a week the holster will relax to a lighter draw after being "broken in". If the holster draw is still stiff, use a plastic safe general lubricant like WD-40 on the inside of the holster to create a lower friction draw. Finally you can take the holster by itself WITHOUT any bear spray cannister in the holster or ADS Sound alarm attached and heat up the plastic holster body using a hair dryer or heat gun. Once the plastic holster body has been heated up you can insert your can of bear spray into the holster and leave it sit for 24h. This will help speed up the break in period and allow the plastic to conform to your cannister faster.
